1998 Jaguar XJR Supercharged
From the moment
I first touched
the starter on
this magnificent
automobile I knew
I was in for something
extraordinary.
She’s the beauty
and the beast.
It growled to
life like no other
car I’ve ever
owned. Not a load
roar but a sound
of perfect harmonics.
If you walk around
the back of the
car you’ll truly
hear the resonance
of power coming
from the duel
chrome tips. But
this Jaguar captures
all of your 5
senses. When you
first get in you’ll
smell the quality
Connolly leather,
a scent you’ll
always remember.
It’s a non-smoker,
besides who would
dare spoil the
aroma of luxury.
As for visual
pleasure, the
classic magic
curves go beyond
sexy and with
a stance that
you know is ready
to run with sports
cars costing over
$100,000! In fact
the 0 to 60 rating
of 5.2 seconds
can match a Ferrari
Testarossa or
a Porsche 911.
(see below for
more detailed
performance list)
When the Eaton
Supercharger instantly
lights up the
375 hp, it lets
out a gentle whine
while it kicks
you back in the
saddle like a
bucking horse.
It’s hard to remember
you’re in a luxury
4-door sedan when
you feel the G-force
around a sharp
curve without
a sound from the
wide Michelin
tires mounted
on 18-inch wheels.
As for taste,
Jaguar has it
over all others
in its class.
When I valet park
this baby she’s
usually waiting
for me right out
front, where they
always park the
high-end cars.
You have to laugh,
to think you can
own this car for
less than the
cost of a used
2005 Kia.
I feel confident
that when you
own this masterpiece
of engineering,
like me, you’ll
look forward to
every opportunity
to be behind the
wheel. Upon entering
with the keyless
entry you’ll admire
the interior design
with its rich
dark birds-eye
maple and watch
the seat, mirror
and steering wheel
memory glide into
your preset position.
Grip the wood
and leather steering
wheel and with
a flick of your
thumb turn down
the 240 watt Harman
Kardon CD changer
so you can hear
the purr of the
engine. On a cold
winter day press
the heated seat
button and warm
your soul, among
other things.
Set the automatic
climate control
or let a little
nature in with
the electric sunroof,
she does blow
very cold air.
Step on the gas
too hard and you’ll
discover Automatic
Stability Control
(ASC) as well
as low-speed traction
control. You’ll
always have a
sense of safety
with front and
side airbags,
anti-lock brakes.
If you feel a
little frisky
press the sport
button which changes
the shifting to
that of an Indy
car. It is electronically
limited to 155
mph; with this
kind of ferocious
power you’ll appreciate
the built-in hidden
radar detector.

As
should be, British
Racing Green is
the only color
for a performance
Jaguar. During
the day the green
exterior and the
Cashmere interior
reminds me of
the color of money
and at night it
looks black like
it put on a dress
tuxedo. The beautiful
leaping Jaguar
hood ornament
and the distinctive
stainless mesh
grille conveys
a level of heritage
that all others
want to emulate,
although never
match.
I’ve
owned many luxury
sports cars in
my life time starting
with a Jaguar
XKE V12 in the
early 70’s. By
far the XJR is
my favorite. I
hate to part with
it but due to
a recent Kidney
transplant, medical
costs are eating
into my budget.
Although, after
a while, like
Arnold Schwarzenegger
once said “I’ll
be back” in another
Jaguar XJR.
My reduced sacrifice
sale price only
$11,900 New she
was $67,400
You ask “What’s
the miles per
gallon?” Well
lets say when
you add up saving
thousands of dollars
on the purchase
price and thousands
of dollars on
an extremely low
remaining deprecation
rate along with
the price of fuel,
your overall cost
of operation is
still less than
that of 2005 Kia
although not nearly
as much fun.
Wishing the new
owner the appreciation
I’ve experienced
driving this breathtakingly
wonderful and
rare car. With
119K miles she
runs as good as
she looks!

isn't just a fast
car. It is a beautifully
balanced automobile
whose handling
and ride comfort
are on a par with
its power.”
